What Is It?
Our hormones influence all areas of the body, from the brain to the heart. The balance of these hormones is vitally important to maintaining optimal health. Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy is an alternative to HRT, which uses bioidentical hormones to treat hormonal conditions in both men and women of various ages.
Often women don’t understand what is happening in their bodies at different stages in their lives. We believe in helping to provide the knowledge and guidance necessary to educate and empower our patients to take control of their health and their lives. This makes it easier for them to regain their confidence and make informed decisions. We offer expertise for a range of conditions, with particular attention to menopause.
Hormones are just as important for men as they are for women. In fact, both men and women produce the same hormones, only in different amounts. Andropause, the male equivalent of menopause, has begun to attract more attention from the media and medical community in recent years. Men entering middle age report a loss of ‘joie de vivre’ – many start to question their lives, their relationships and their work. We offer expertise for a range of conditions, with particular attention to andropause.
How do I make an appointment?
Please call the Clinic on 01642 782221 and speak with a member of our team. All appointments are held at A Vita, 22 High Street, Yarm, TS15 9AE
Prior to your appointment you will be sent a questionnaire to complete. Please bring this with you to your Initial consultation appointment. The questionnaire will then be discussed in more detail, giving particular attention to current symptoms that you are experiencing. Blood tests will be obtained during your appointment, which will be sent to our designated lab for analysis. Please also ensure that you drink and have something to eat prior to your appointment.
2 weeks later – follow-up appointment (phone consultation) – This appointment is usually via telephone, however, if you would rather attend in person, please let our team know. Your Nurse Practitioner will advise you of your blood test results and provide you with a personalised plan of prescription medicine devised specifically for you based on the test results.
